Job Description Job Description Salary: The Mental Health Association of Monmouth County seeks a compassionate and skilled Crisis Clinician to join our Family Crisis Intervention Unit. This role provides 24/7 crisis intervention, stabilization, and advocacy services to youth and families experiencing acute challenges. Responsibilities: Provide 24/7 crisis intervention and stabilization services, responding to calls within 20 minutes and offering counseling, guidance, or referrals per the FCIU Operations Manual. Conduct comprehensive biopsychosocial assessments, gathering vital family history, school performance, prior/current services, and additional background information to address the crisis effectively. Deliver face-to-face intervention services to families within 24-48 hours of referral unless otherwise specified. Offer in-home and community-based psychotherapeutic services, including after-hours availability to accommodate family needs. Rotate on-call responsibilities for 24/7 crisis intervention, including weekends and holidays, providing triage and support. Maintain a caseload of youth referred for unauthorized absences, family conflict, truancy, or safety concerns, including mental health diagnoses, legal issues, or high-risk behaviors. Develop, monitor, and evaluate individualized behavioral or treatment plans, crisis stabilization strategies, and service goals. Provide referrals and advocacy for additional services, including wrap-around therapy, substance use treatment, and health/nutritional needs. Collaborate with community partners such as police departments, schools, courts, mental health providers, and faith-based organizations to coordinate services. Document all case activity in compliance with policies and regulations, maintaining strict confidentiality and reporting any high-risk incidents to the Director of Youth Services. Facilitate psycho-educational trainings and group discussions with at-risk youth and families as needed. Prepare family crisis or out-of-home placement petitions for court, attend proceedings, and provide progress updates to judges. Establish and nurture relationships with youth, families, and key stakeholders to foster effective intervention services. Assist with training new clinicians and interns, and participate in community outreach presentations. Attend supervision, peer, team, and agency meetings. Complete required reports and data sets. Other duties may be assigned. Spanish speaking preferred, but not necessary. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in human services and two years of experience with adolescents. Master's degree in a mental health discipline with licensure required by New Jersey law (preferred). Master's-level staff are assigned higher risk cases. Valid drivers license in good standing.
