Job Description:
Interstate Waste Services, a leader in non-hazardous waste
management in the Northeastern U.S., is seeking a dedicated Manager
of Site Operations for our Material Recovery Facility (MRF). This
pivotal role involves overseeing the day-to-day operations of the
facility, ensuring efficient material processing, compliance with
safety and environmental regulations, and leading a team committed
to operational excellence. The ideal candidate will bring a robust
background in waste management or recycling operations,
demonstrating a track record of enhancing process efficiencies and
fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement. Direct
and oversee all aspects of operations at the Material Recovery
Facility. Implement and monitor systems to maximize productivity
and minimize costs while ensuring quality standards are met. Ensure
compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Manage and lead staff, fostering a team-oriented,
compliance-focused culture. Develop strategic operational plans to
enhance profitability and efficiency. Coordinate with other
departments to integrate logistics with business systems or
processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or
shipping. Prepare and manage the facility’s budget; monitor
operational performance. Analyze data to monitor performance and
plan improvements and demand adjustments. Proven leadership and
organizational skills. Strong competency in operating material
recovery facility equipment and technology. Excellent communication
and interpersonal abilities. In-depth knowledge of the waste
management or recycling industry standards. Ability to manage and
coordinate logistics within a multi-functional department.
Proficiency with data analysis and performance metrics. Medical
Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Life Insurance 401k
Certified Waste Management Professional (CWMP) preferred. OSHA
Safety Certification or equivalent. Any local or state-specific
environmental compliance certifications.
