Job Description Job Description Municipal Law Attorney Municipal Law Attorney Position Overview We are seeking a skilled Municipal Law Attorney to provide legal counsel and representation to various municipalities and public entities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of municipal law, regulations, and procedures, and will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal laws. Key Responsibilities - Provide legal advice and support to municipalities and school boards on various issues. Essentially acting as general counsel for these public entities. - Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and agreements to protect the interests of the municipality. - Advise on zoning matters and assist in the development and enforcement of zoning ordinances. - Assist in the preparation and review of resolutions and ordinances for municipal meetings. - Represent the municipality in public hearings and other legal proceedings related to municipal law. - Conduct research and stay updated on legal developments in municipal law and related areas. - Facilitate public meetings and ensure compliance with open meetings laws and regulations. - Collaborate with other legal and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with applicable laws. Qualifications - Barred in NJ - 2 years of experience in municipal law or a related field. - Strong knowledge of contracts, zoning, and regulatory compliance issues. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. - Proven ability to handle public meetings and hearings effectively. - Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. - For this position, you must be currently authorized to work in the United States without the need for sponsorship for a non-immigrant visa.
