Job Description:

A family owned high-end steakhouse in Passaic NJ is looking for a head cook/kitchen manager that will take responsibility in our kitchen, and lead our team to success. You will be responsible for all kitchen functions, including but not limited to food purchasing, receiving, preparation and maintenance of quality standards, safety, sanitation and cleanliness. The kitchen manager ensures that food served always meets restaurant standard of excellence. The candidate must have strong knowledge of food safety. The ideal candidate: Has amazing creativity with ability to create daily specials, menus for special events, and new menu items Has passion for perfection for all the food he creates, and the way its presented Catering experience necessary Experience maintaining food costs Training of new and current BOH staff to ensure excellent product quality is delivered to all customers, Handle any problems that arise in the kitchen, and working with FOH staff with communication on all kitchen related business Perform necessary administrative tasks including BOH staff scheduling, inventory management/ordering and anything else as needed for day to day and special event operations Ensure a clean and safe working environment for staff and customers Maintain excellent customer service and positive attitude towards customers, co-workers and other staff members Skills and qualifications: Ability to work in high-pressure environment Well-organized and detail-oriented Demonstrated ability to lead, communicate and train team members Strong interpersonal, leadership and English verbal communication skills Maintain all local and DOH certificates required by state officials You will benefit from: We are a young growing company with room for advancement Competitive salary No regular Friday and Saturday shifts Company discounts Great working environment & company culture
