Job Description:
Develop data management strategy, data solutions and services to
enable the business to make better-informed and timely strategic decisions.
Leverage overall business strategy along with desired strategic
objectives and translate them into data management (transactional, analytical,
regulatory, and security) and data solutions (operational reporting,
business intelligence and analytics) requirements. Build consensus on
enterprise- wide definitions of foundational data elements. Establish data
quality goals and define data policy, governance processes, quality
controls, quality metrics, and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to meet
defined strategic objectives. Monitor, measure, and report on data
quality and Service Level Agreement (SLA) performance. Provide thought
leadership on data management approach such as how to create, use and archive
enterprise foundational data. Implement data quality improvement
initiatives such as enforcing data standards across all “source of entry” systems.
Work with business and technology teams and leaders to implement improved
data management processes, maintenance workflows and data management
platform and technology. Analyze and communicate change impacts to all
relevant business processes across the organization. Lead change
management initiatives to drive the enterprise in creating and using better
quality data. Education & Experience Requirements: Master's degree in
Information Systems, Business Administration, Computer Science or related
field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus 3 years of
experience developing data governance programs, performing data analytics
and building data quality controls or alternatively, a Bachelor's degree and
5 years of experience as stated above. 1 year of experience must include:
(1) Interfacing with business leaders, product managers, and process
managers to gather and analyze data management requirements, analyze data
needs and define data management projects to meet requirements; (2)
Designing and implementing data governance programs, and building data quality
controls and key domain relevant metrics; (3) Developing enterprise data
models, data standards such as enterprise wide data definitions, data
formats, business rules and quality controls for foundational data; (4)
Interfacing with technology teams to analyze data requirements, future state
data architecture, integration architecture, master data management
processes, and future-state data and integration architecture; (5)
Designing data solutions such as operational or analytical reports using
industry leading tools and technologies such as Spotfire, Qlikview, Tableau and
Power Pivot including developing queries using Oracle PL/SQL, SQL, Java and
developing business intelligence using R, Hive or Hbase on Hadoop; (6)
Leading data solutions projects including performing data and analytical
analysis, researching tools and platforms both on-premise and cloud,
defining roles for project team members, and tracking progress using project
planning tools such as Microsoft Project Plan; (7) Developing reports to
deliver to senior business and technology leaders to advise on enterprise
data quality and data management program priorities, using Microsoft
PowerPoint and Visio; (8) Performing cost/benefit analysis and developing
business case to support leadership in prioritizing data management and data
quality projects; and, (9) Analyzing existing systems and process and
creating change management processes, workflows and training programs to
